From the Director--February 2020

Thanks to our hardworking Friends of the Library (FOL) we are proud to announce additions to our Library of Things and museum pass collections. If you are going to be travelling or you don't have Wi-Fi at home, you can now check out one of our Coolpad Surf Mobile Hot Spots to keep you connected anywhere you go.

Do you still have your vinyl LP collection but nowhere to play them? You can check out our Victrola Vintage 3-speed Bluetooth turntable with speakers and enjoy the sound that only vinyl can produce. The final new addition this month to the Library of Things is a great portable junior chess set that's ready to travel along with you.

Our burgeoning Library of Things collection also includes a birdwatching kit with binoculars; two stargazing telescopes, one large and a small table-top model suitable for outings to view the meteor shows that will be appearing over New Jersey a number of times this year; a metal detector for beach-combing; a ukulele with a learner's guide; and giant Connect-4 and Jenga games for parties or just plain fun.

We will continue to add to this collection with a sewing machine and other fun items planned. Give us your suggestions for the Library of Things.

The Friends are also adding two new museum passes to our wonderful collection. You will now be able to reserve and check out passes to the Jewish Museum in Manhattan and the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts in Madison. Check out our full museum pass collection by clicking this link and plan your outing today.

You can help the Friends support library services such as these by attending the upcoming membership meeting on Tuesday, February 4th at 7:30 pm in the Hickok Room or by becoming a member. You can sign up by clicking this link.
