From the Director -- November 2018

Do you or a family member have difficulty reading regular print or are you unable to hold a book due to a physical disability? The Summit Free Public Library works with the New Jersey State Library Talking Book & Braille Center (TBBC) to bring no-cost materials to your door. We can assist you in getting an accessible audiobook player as well as audiobooks, Braille books, downloadable audiobooks, audio magazines and Braille files for Braille readers, access to BARD Mobile, an app for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, and/or news reading services, such as Audiovision and Newsline. An individual must apply for TBBC's services and have his/her eligibility certified. An application can be found here, by calling TBBC at 1-800-792-8322 for an application to be sent by mail or at the Summit Library Information desk (908-273-0350, option 3). The Summit Library also offers audiobooks, Playaways, and large print materials.

We are also working with SAGE Eldercare to deliver library materials to homebound patrons who receive food delivery through the Meals-on-Wheels program. Have your favorite books delivered with your dinner! Contact the Information desk to sign up.
