Your Summit library card is the smartest card in your wallet. What can you do with your library card? So many things. When I think about all the things you can do with your library card, I am reminded of Bubba from the film Forrest Gump naming all the ways you can cook shrimp. You can download ebooks and eaudio books, the latest magazines and even music, TV shows and movies using elibrarynj, hoopla and Zinio. You can learn a foreign language with Rosetta Stone, learn a new skill with Lynda.com, study for the SAT, ACT, GED, TOEFL or PARCC tests with Learning Express and manage your portfolio on the Morningstar Investment Research Center. And that’s all without getting off your couch.
Come into the library and use our PCs, hook up to our WiFi, scan, copy or fax documents, get something notarized or print something on the 3D printer. View a movie on our big screen TVs, participate in our book discussion group, attend a lecture, concert or story time program. You can borrow a museum pass to visit a museum for free or use your library card to get a discount on entry into the Liberty Science Center. And by the way we still lend books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, Playaways, video games and more. Use your Summit Library card to connect to these services and more. If you don’t have a card, September is the perfect time to sign up. See what doors your library card can open for you!

p.s. Now that the eclipse is over, please consider donating your eclipse glasses to Astronomers without Borders to send to schools in Asia and South America for the 2019 solar eclipse. Just bring the glasses into the Library any time this month. Thanks to the Summit UPS Store for generously agreeing to ship the glasses to the central U.S. collection site.
